Dynamic Balancing

Everything that rotates needs to be in a state of balance to ensure smooth running when in operation. Precision balancing is essential to the manufacture of rotating equipment and to the repair and renovation of installed machines. As machine speeds increase, the effects of unbalance become more detrimental. These effects can cause unnecessary downtime, failed seals, premature bearing wear, increased vibration, reduced efficiency and higher power consumption

Modern technology allows for accurate balancing to be performed both in the field and in the workshop. There are distinct advantages of balancing in the field (in-situ), as the balancing is performed on the complete assembled machine. Costly and time-consuming disassembly to remove the rotor and ship offsite to a workshop for balancing is eliminated and the effects of temperature, pressure, distortion and other environmental influences can be incorporated.

Before commissioning a rotor, use Howler’s expert technicians to perform an in-situ dynamic balance to ensure optimum running performance.
