Advanced Vibration Diagnostics

When it comes to reliability services, Vibration Analysis (VA) is often the primary service utilised. This is due to its ability to detect a broad range of issues in a broad range of machines, and at very early stages.

By collecting and analysing the vibration data from a machine, the “health” of the machine can be determined. When vibration data is collected during regular surveys, the rate of deterioration can be predicted and this allows time for parts/replacement to be ordered and maintenance scheduled. This provides minimal disturbance to production as well as optimising the machine life based on the actual condition of the machine (and not on time-based maintenance recommendations).

Experience does matter when it comes to VA. It takes years of collecting and analysing vibration data from all sorts of industries and all sorts of machines to build up the expertise and knowledge to be both confident and accurate with advanced vibration diagnostics. Our industry is struggling with lack of experience as vibration certificates only require a 1 week course and six months field experience. A certificate does not necessarily mean competence.
